Content uniformity

Citrus fruit consist of single scraps, each of them with the same composition of vitamins and minerals. Many applications of food, feed and chemical industry also demand defined contents of actives.

Agglomeration

The homogenous distribution of several single components in a mixture is a challenging task. Different particle sizes, density and morphology of the powder particles easily lead to decomposition in the subsequent processes. Through the process of agglomeration the single particles are agglutinated to a granule and stabilized with a binder. Very small quantities of actives can be applied evenly if sprayed as a diluted solution.

Pelletizing

For the manufacturing of products with a defined activity, e.g. catalysts or active pellets, the active is dispersed in a solution and sprayed layer by layer on an even carrier. This process called layering ensures a reproducible and constant content of actives.
